Enzo Maresca asserts himself as a Leicester City player ahead of the Swansea City match.
Maresca may have made these remarks to relieve pressure on his squad before of today’s match at Swansea.com Stadium.

Even if Leicester City lose at Swansea City this afternoon, manager Enzo Maresca believes his team has had a fantastic start to the season, according to Leicestershire Live.

The Foxes have been nothing short of fantastic this season, winning 10 of their first 11 league games, which is an incredible achievement.

Even if they needed late winners in several of these games, the Midlands outfit has been well worth many of their victories, and they have already met another previously relegated club, claiming a 4-1 away triumph against Southampton.

They have only lost two games in all competitions this season, both against Hull City, and were perhaps unlucky not to take a point or three from that encounter against Liam Rosenior’s side.

The Tigers performed well to exploit Leicester’s weakness in transition and should have scored one or two more, but the Foxes should have scored as well, especially after Cesare Casadei and Abdul Fatawu came on.

And their second defeat of the season came at the hands of Liverpool in the Carabao Cup, despite taking the lead at Anfield. That is a significant accomplishment in and of itself, and they may be able to leave the competition with their heads held high.

Although their strong start to the season isn’t surprising given the caliber of their roster, with Stephy Mavididi, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall, and others likely too good to play in the Championship, there were a number of changes made during the summer transfer window.

They lost players like James Maddison, Harvey Barnes, and Timothy Castagne, and they had to adjust to a new manager, Maresca, who came in and implemented his system.

His style was always going to take some getting used to, but Leicester’s squad has adapted well.

The Foxes are in fine form at the moment, taking 30 points from a possible 33, conceding six goals in 11 league games and scoring at a rate of more than two goals on average in the second tier. They will remain top of the division regardless of what happens today, with Ipswich Town’s game at Rotherham United being postponed yesterday.

Even if they lose at Swansea tonight, Maresca believes his team has had a fantastic start to the 2023/24 season.

“I think even if we lose, it’s a fantastic start,” he remarked.

“We’re focused on the game tomorrow.” We are especially focused on what we need to do. It’s a byproduct.

“If we do the right things, nine (out of ten) times out of ten, or eight (times out of ten), we get the results.”

“Sometimes, even if you do the right things, you don’t always win.” We’re only focused about the game tomorrow.”

The Swans may have had a slow start to the season, but they have won four consecutive league games heading into this match, which is a fantastic feat.

The Swans have shown wonderful character in responding to such a poor start to 2023/24, and you believe they have the grit needed to grind out a point or three from this game.

Michael Duff’s team also have home advantage, which will aid the Swans, despite the fact that the Foxes have been excellent away from home this season.

Anything can happen in this division, which is why a Swansea victory cannot be ruled out, but the visitors have to be considered the favorites, especially with the Swans’ recent results.

The away team has the talent to bring three more points back to the Midlands.
