Iheanacho scored a rocket in Nigeria’s last game, and he’s brought that form to Leicester City.

Leicester City defeated Swansea City 3-1 on Saturday, with Super Eagles attacker Kelechi Iheanacho scoring the game-winning goal, according to Soccernet.

Leicester traveled to South Wales as favourites on Saturday, having a pristine 100% away record – and 10 wins from 11 games – in the second division this season. In their way would be Michael Duff’s in-form Swans, who are riding high after four straight wins and seeking to spoil another Vardy celebration.

Rushworth, Key, Tymon, Darling, Humphries, Grimes (captain), Patino, Cullen, Paterson, Lowe, and Yates made up the SWA squad.

Hermansen, Pereira, Faes, Vestergaard, Justin, Ndidi, Winks, Dewsbury-Hall, Fatawu, Vardy, Mavididi are the LEI players.

The visitors got the better of the opening exchanges, with Wilfred Ndidi stealing the ball in midfield before a clever move involving Jamie Vardy and Kieran Dewsbury-Hall resulted in Harry Winks bending an effort just over the Swansea goal.

The Swans, on the other hand, would mature into the game as they were thrown into a competitive half. Midfield innovators Matt Grimes and Charlie Patino would combine up before almost finding forward Jerry Yates’ well-timed run. Leicester goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, on the other hand, would be attentive to the threat of intercepting and breaking the attack.

The Swans would capitalize on this period of pressure, taking a surprising lead midway through the first quarter with skipper Grimes scoring his third goal of the season.

Under pressure, the Leicester defense would fail to clear their lines enough from a corner, allowing the ball to travel only as far as the penalty area’s edge. Grimes would connect superbly with a rasping left-foot volley that sailed past a despairing Hermansen into the bottom right-hand corner.

The goal would jolt Leicester into action, with their play displaying a greater feeling of direct urgency. Stephy Mavididi gained space down the right before sending a low cross across goal that evaded everyone, allowing the Swans to clear.

Carl Rushworth, the busier of the two goalkeepers, would have to deal with a barrage of crosses as the visitors pressed high on the Swans defense.

After Harry Winks had shown good vision to pick out his midfield partner, Dewsbury-Hall would come near with a cross-come-shot that was pulled just wide of the Swans goalkeeper’s post.

The latter would be energetic and have a potshot of his own on the spin, but the effort would go straight into the hands of the on-loan Brighton player from the outskirts of the area, as the visitors appeared to be the more probable without generating a clear-cut opportunity.

Then came the pivotal moment in the half, when Leicester equalized on the stroke of halftime. A left-wing corner was received by Belgian defender Wout Faes’ head, but it went right into the midriff of a Swansea defender. With Rushworth down, Jannik Vestergaard would be the first to respond, tapping into an open net.

The Swans responded well and had a chance to reclaim the lead before the interval in the following phase of play. Liam Cullen picked up the ball on the right before unleashing a 25-yard left-foot thunderbolt that deflected into the woodwork – and the resulting corner nearly proved fruitful for the home team, with Harry Darling’s header exposing the Foxes’ set-piece problems, though his header fell short.

In the early stages of the second half, Leicester would command the play, trying to push Swansea deep into their own half. Mavididi came close to benefiting from good work by Ndidi and Vardy, but his shot dragged across the goal despite being well situated on the left side.

The visitors controlled the game at times and, despite the Swans’ excellent moments, took the lead for the first time. After Dewsbury-Hall’s pinpoint cross had picked out the Ghanaian international winger at the back post, Abdul Fatawu smashed an effort into the top corner past Rushworth.

With the Foxes in full flight, it only seemed a matter of time before they netted a crucial third goal. The Swans would be grateful to Rushworth for denying Vardy with the Leicester striker through on goal, while Ndidi would miss a guilt-edged opportunity minutes later when well-placed.

The Swans, on the other hand, would weather the storm and almost equalize as the game reached the last fifteen minutes, with Jamie Paterson having a last-ditch shot blocked by Faes in the Leicester defense.

As the audience began to scent a comeback, Jamaican attacker Jamal Lowe would pull a diving save from Mads Hermansen, curling an attempt from 25 yards towards the bottom corner.

The Swans’ hopes were dashed with five minutes remaining, as the opponents scored on the counter attack. With the Swans committing numbers in the opposition half, substitute Kelechi Iheanacho scored past Rushworth after being passed through on goal.

Leicester City will host Sunderland in midweek, while Swansea City will host Watford at the Swansea.com Stadium. Both matches will be televised in the United Kingdom.
