David Moyes is not in a hurry to initiate contract negotiations with West Ham United.
David Moyes has stated that he is not in a rush to begin contract talks to prolong his term as manager of West Ham United, despite the fact that his present contract expires at the end of the season.

The former Manchester United manager has been in charge at the London Stadium since 2019, and his team has had a fantastic start to the season, currently sitting seventh in the Premier League and winning their first two Europa League matches.

Despite his early success and having taken the Hammers to the Europa League last season, talks to extend the 60-year-old’s tenure in East London have yet to commence, and the Scotsman is under no obligation to do so.

According to the Daily Mail (21 October), when asked if he could sign a seven-year extension like Jarrod Bowen, Moyes responded, “I would expect so, I’m young enough.” I’m looking forward to working as long as I can, but I’ll also decide when it’s time to hang up my stopwatch and whistle.

“Right now, I’m fine.” I’m solely concerned about the team’s success, keeping us going and maintaining the focus on that. I’m sure we’ll talk about it later, but for now, I’m content to go along with it and see what happens.”

The London Stadium appears to be a situation that might go either way, but it does seem unusual that both parties appear anxious to extend Moyes’ term with West Ham, yet neither is doing anything to put a contract in place right now.

However, it does not appear to be a concern for the former Everton manager, who appears content to wait and see what the future holds, with his whole attention being on his side’s next matches rather than his personal future, which should mean that his team isn’t distracted by the rumours surrounding his future.

Moyes’ time at the London Stadium has undoubtedly deserved a new contract, but the Hammers may believe now is the time to refresh their team and bring in a new style of play to get the most out of their attacking prowess.

There is still a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season, and a lot can occur in football in such a short period of time, so supporters shouldn’t be concerned that no negotiations appear forthcoming as long as the Irons reach a decision before the end of the season.

In unrelated West Ham news, Fabrizio Romano has stated that no Saudi clubs have approached the Hammers about signing Zouma.
