This season, the 28-year-old has been fantastic for the Hammers and could be rewarded with a new long-term contract as a result.
David Moyes clearly believes in Zouma as a true leader and role model, as evidenced by his choice to designate him the new club captain.
However, following the infamous cat-kicking incident in February 2022, some people chastised Moyes for doing so.

‘Cat pain,’ Gary Lineker tweets about Kurt Zouma on X
Despite the fact that Zouma and West Ham have moved on, Lineker brought it up again on X today, although with a weak effort at a joke.

It’s a pretty poor joke to be fair isn’t it!?
Aside from that, surely everyone needs to move on now. Sure, it was a terrible thing that the Frenchman did, and I’m not condoning it one little bit.
However, he’s a human being and he made a mistake – one that he has undoubtedly learned from.
Gary Lineker made a light-hearted attempt at a joke at the expense of Kurt Zouma, but it was a really poor one as far as I’m concerned.
