“There’s no doubt,” says Jack Harrison of Leeds United and Everton’s relegation claims.

Out-on-loan Leeds United winger Jack Harrison has promised not to be demoted again after joining Everton for the 2013/14 season.

The Whites are seeking to make an instant return to the Premier League after being relegated this season, and Daniel Farke has overseen significant changes.

He wasn’t helped by Leeds being compelled to authorize repeated loan exits for key first-team players, and those players are hoping for better success this time around.

Jack Harrison joined Everton in August after scoring the final Premier League goal for Leeds, hoping that Goodison Park does not face the same fate as Elland Road did in May.

Under Sean Dyche, the Toffees are 16th in the table, but they have had a few decent performances, including a 3-0 thrashing of Bournemouth, in which Harrison curled in a sumptuous second before inadvertently assisting for the third.

Speaking ahead of the return of Premier League action this week, Harrison believes his new team has what it takes to avoid finishing in the bottom three, as stated by The Athletic:

“It was difficult with Leeds.” The shift from Marcelo Bielsa made a tremendous effect, and we barely managed to stay up. Last year, there was a lot going on behind the scenes that no one saw, and it had an impact on the pitch.

“I have no doubt that I will not be relegated again, but it is something that will always bother me after last year.” I never want that to happen again, and it serves as a drive for me to avoid it.

“At this level, I have to acacept responsibility for it.” To assist in propelling this team to where it belongs. Everton has a strong foundation and a lot of talent on the team.

“It shouldn’t be fighting relegation, so hopefully I can help get the team back up there this year.”

It’s understandable that Harrison has high expectations, but it’s a devastating assessment of the standards set at Everton that he’s already striving for 17th and higher.

He’s more than capable of being the player Everton want him to be, as he shown against Bournemouth, so hopefully more of the same will follow.

Harrison was one of the few players who appeared to care about the finish of last season and put in the effort to prove it.
