Everton Urged To Sign This Man City Midfielder On Loan: Should Dyche Move In For Him?

A View From The Bullens host Ben Winstanley recently pushed Everton to recruit Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips on loan in an interview with Give Me Sport. According to Winstanley,

“Yes, I believe if we can get him on loan, he’ll be a fantastic signing.” I heard a lot of murmuring during the summer. For me, the thing about Phillips is that he is a pure number six. He is a Gareth Barry-type player who will sit in front of the back four and protect them. He enjoys the ball and the game of football. I believe it would be a terrific signing, relieving burden on players like Onana. Garner, Gueye, because, while Onana can play in a deeper place, I feel like he’s so lanky, so strong, so powerful that he could be your box-to-box midfielder, and he’s got the quickness to come back and obviously contribute with the defending.”

Should Everton Head Coach Sean Dyche Move In For Phillips?

Phillips is a tough-tackling midfielder who can time his challenges well to secure possession back for his team inside his half. He doesn’t mind clearing the danger when the opposition are on the front foot.

However, due to a lack of playing time, his confidence has suffered at Man City. As a result, the player would welcome a move to a club like Everton, where he would be assured a starting berth on a consistent basis.

Phillips would give Sean Dyche’s midfield more bite and grit. He could even help the Merseyside club avoid relegation from the Premier League this season. As a result, Dyche should consider signing him on loan this winter.
