In the midst of Everton transfer rumors, a journalist explains what sources have to say regarding Kalvin Phillips.

According to Ryan Taylor, sources have discounted rumours that Kalvin Phillips has already decided to leave Manchester City in January due to interest from Everton.

On page 57 of the print edition of the Sunday People on 15 October, the journalist stated that the England international will wait until December to decide his future at the Etihad Stadium.

However, he added that the 27-year-old’s chances of leaving the Premier League champions are “growing increasingly stronger” and that he is “unlikely to be short of suitors” if he does decide to depart.

Phillips’ desire to take his time and consider whether he truly wants to leave what is arguably the best team in the world is understandable.

However, the midfielder must consider the impact his lack of game time may have on his international career and overall match sharpness.

Football rumours: Kalvin Phillips attracting interest from Liverpool | The Independent

Since signing for £45 million from Leeds United in July 2022, the Englishman has made just two Premier League starts and has played only 70 minutes in the league this season.

He would undoubtedly improve the Toffees’ midfield talent, but it would depend on how much they would have to pay to recruit him, whether in terms of money for a permanent transfer or salaries for a prospective loan deal.

He’ll have to make some difficult decisions in the coming months, but a transfer to Goodison Park might be just what he needs to get his career back on track and prove why he deserves to be in England’s squad for the European Championships next summer.
