Sean Dyche has been given a January transfer boost as an update on Everton-linked Kalvin Phillips comes.
Given their terrible start to the season, Everton could probably use a few new faces in the January transfer window. The Merseyside club is 16th in the Premier League rankings, having won only two of their eight games this season.
After bringing in a handful of new faces in the summer, manager Sean Dyche is set to turn to new additions in the upcoming window.
According to The i (10 October), Everton were interested in loaning out Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips in the most recent transfer window.
The England international eventually decided to stay at the Etihad, but according to ESPN (13 October), Phillips is now willing to evaluate his alternatives, which is good news for Dyche and the Toffees.
The former Leeds United man will undoubtedly have a slew of suitors, and he may have his pick of a large number of clubs when the time comes.
Everton will be anxious to be at the top of his list, but it will be a tall ask considering the player’s ability and potential to improve.
The Toffees, on the other hand, have the potential to stand out in the hunt for his signature due to their penchant for a loan agreement, which Pep Guardiola may prefer over a permanent leave.
His future is uncertain, but leaving Manchester City appears to be the wisest option for the 27-year-old.
First and foremost, at this stage of his career, he should be searching for regular club football, but staying on the bench under Pep Guardiola is doing a lot of damage to the player’s England hopes.
