Romano provides transfer update on ‘great’ Everton target, saying that a decision will be made later.

Journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the rumored signing of Premier League defensive midfielder Kalvin Phillips, who has been linked to Everton in the transfer market.

Earlier this week, iNews claimed that Everton and Newcastle were both considering signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

Romano offered a transfer report about Kalvin Phillips in his daily broadcast on Caught Offside. Despite connections to Newcastle and Everton, he stated, “I’m not aware of any actual talks on this one.”

“Phillips is still focused on doing his best for City and then a decision will be made later, like November or December,” said a source. “Phillips wanted to stay at City this summer despite some Romano offered a transfer report about Kalvin Phillips in his daily broadcast on Caught Offside. Despite connections to Newcastle and Everton, he stated, “I’m not aware of any actual talks on this one.”

Phillips, an English international who helped Manchester City win the Premier League, the Champions League, and the FA Cup last year, is without a doubt a talented athlete.

Despite this, Everton should be discouraged from making the potential transfer because of his lack of playing time since joining the Premier League champions.

But as of right now, it appears that the ‘great’ player transfer story may drag on until November or December before a decision is reached.

Everton shouldn’t be concerned about this because the midfield is perhaps one of their strongest places in the team right now.

It seems like Everton manager Sean Dyche has elite talent in the same position as Phillips right now with midfielders Abdoulaye Doucoure, James Garner, and Amadou Onana all having a strong start to the season.

It will be interesting to see what Phillips decides to do about his future because he undoubtedly worries a lot about not getting enough playing time.
