Danny Murphy, a former Liverpool midfielder, has lavished praise on Everton winger Jack Harrison.
In the recent summer transfer window, Jack Harrison joined Everton on loan from Leeds United. Although his Toffees debut was delayed owing to injury, the 26-year-old is now fully fit.
Harrison made his debut for Everton on Saturday, opening his account with a spectacular long-range drive that brushed the underside of the crossbar on its way into the back of the net.
The amazing goal helped Everton to a 3-0 win over Bournemouth, ensuring Sean Dyche’s team enjoyed a Premier League victory at Goodison Park for the first time this season.
Danny Murphy praised Harrison’s performance against the Cherries. “Harrison, who’s come into the team from Leeds, what a finish,” the 46-year-old former England man exclaimed on Match of the Day. What a fantastic performance from him as well, he was so upbeat in his play.”
Everton’s Harrison comes to life
Everton appeared to be revitalized with Harrison on the field. Harrison added dynamism and enthusiasm to the Toffees’ attacking style alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Abdoulaye Doucoure, and Dwight McNeil.
Given Everton’s recent struggles in front of goal, Dyche will take a lot of encouragement from this game. He will be desperately hoping that this performance has provided his team with a foundation on which to create a regular run of strong form.
Harrison will also be hoping that the Toffees can pick up where they left off. After being relegated from the Premier League with Leeds United the previous season, the former England under-21 international will be hoping to avoid the same fate as an Everton player this season. He can undoubtedly play an important part in keeping the club out of the drop zone.
