Unai Emery suffers a “major blow” at Aston Villa, but there is still hope for the team to recover.

Unai Emery’s aspirations to win trophies this year took a “major blow” after Aston Villa’s Carabao Cup loss to Everton.

The 2-1 loss was covered by AS, who claim Emery would take it hard after aiming for trophies with the Villans.

According to the publication, the Spanish coach had two objectives in mind when he joined Aston Villa last season: first, he wanted to turn around the team’s terrible record under Steven Gerrard, and second, he wanted to “lift trophies.”

The first one has definitely been accomplished, but the second has yet to take place, thus the loss to Everton will be a “major blow.”

Aston Villa had a decent chance to win their first trophy under Emery in the Carabao Cup, but after falling to the Toffees, they have now lost out on all three possibilities.
It’s upsetting for the coach since he ‘wants to make his imprint’ in Birmingham and has the ‘aspiration’ of winning trophies with his current team.

Things on the cup front are starting to look a little bleak after a poor Europa Conference League debut.

Emery is fortunate to still have the backing of Aston Villa’s athletic administration and notably the supporters, who remain firmly behind him despite this setback.

The Spanish coach must now’remove the outcome’ from the locker room, something AS is certain he can achieve because he is a’specialist’ in turning around circumstances like the one he is now in.
